As a sculptor, I regard every work as a continual process of alchemy; the profound material transformation that exists in the casting process has intrigued me for over 30 years. I am involved in a continuing search for collective symbols that are universal, timeless and underscore the instability and stability of life. The layering of opposites, the mixtures of presences and absences, texture and surface, are all important elements of my visual vocabulary. I am most interested in the creation of works that evoke a healing or consciousness of the soul. Themes like the passage of time often appear with universal and personal symbols and literary word play, investigating a deeper meaning of communication.
